The countdown is on for our Seniors with 32 days until graduation!!  Please take note of This Week at UCA attached and the “Looking Ahead” section of this email to keep on top of what is going on at UCA, as our schedule is very busy until the end of the year but also enjoyable.  We continue toward the goal receiving God’s strength!

CHOIR TOUR CANCELLATION
Due to scheduling difficulties, the choir tour for Sabbath, May 13, has been canceled.

VILLAGE STUDENTS – TRACK & FIELD DAY DATE CHANGE
Please take special note that the date for this event has changed to Monday, May 22 due to better weather conditions later this month.  Please see the attached Track & Field Day Schedule, which is the same as the Home Leave Schedule as far as classes are concerned.  The Track & Field activities will start as soon as classes have ended.  The afternoon activities are part of the required school day.  Lunch and supper are provided for day students.

TEXT & LIBRARY BOOK RETURN
See the attached flier for due dates.  Parents, please encourage your student to wait until the librarian has verified that they have returned all of their books.  It is possible that they will return a textbook, thinking it is theirs, but the bar code shows that it is checked out to someone else.  That will help their friend, but they will still be responsible for their own book.

SENIOR GRADUATION DAY PHOTOS
Attached is a blank order form from the photographer who will be taking the photos of your Senior receiving their diploma.  If you have any questions regarding the photographs, contact the company directly (contact information is on the order form).  Notice the discount for placing and paying for your order prior to or on graduation day.

MEALS FOR GRADUATION WEEKEND
If you are planning to eat any meals in the cafeteria over graduation weekend, please let us know by May 29 which meals you will need and how many will be in your group to help us plan (contact Mrs. Ochoa in the business office at (509) 245-3618 to make reservations).   Thank you so much for this consideration.  Please see meal schedule and charges below:

STUDENTS IN HIS SERVICESCHOLARSHIP
The Upper Columbia Office of Education is now accepting applications for the Students in His Service scholarship program for the 2017 summer.  This scholarship is a three-way scholarship funded equally by the UCC Office of Education, UCC Adventist Community Services Grant funds and the student’s home church.  It is available to students who volunteer in service to their communities and will be in grades 1-12 for the 2017-18 school year.  Check out the guidelines at  uccsda.org/Education/Scholarships.  Applications are available online until May 15 at http://uccsda.org/education.

STUDENT SUMMER JOBS
Is your student needing summer work?  Summer jobs are available at UCA in several different areas, some for a few weeks and others all summer long.  Student workers will need to have their own off-campus housing, as the dorms and cafeteria will not be available for their use.  For more information, please contact Nancy Starr at (509) 245-3610 or nancy.starr@ucaa.org.
