PARENT/GRANDPARENT WEEKEND
We hope you can join us for the exciting weekend we have planned for you November 17-19. This is a unique opportunity for you to enjoy spending valuable time with your student and experience a little of their life here at UCA. This is also a perfect chance to visit with and get to know the staff. It’s always a pleasure for us to meet the families of our students.
SPECIAL SENIOR BRUNCH
The Senior class will be making brunch for you on Sunday, November 19. The brunch will be at 10 a.m. in the cafeteria. Meal tickets are $8, $7 if paying in cash or check, and they can be purchased in the business office. The money will go to support the expenses of the senior class. Please come and support our seniors.
MEALS
Sabbath lunch will be complimentary for immediate family. Please contact the Business Office at (509) 245-3618 to purchase meal tickets, as tickets will not be sold during Sabbath hours. The meal prices are as follows:
Children (0-5 years) | Free |
Children (6-10 years) | $6, Cash price is $5 |
Adults (11 years and up) | $8, Cash price is $7 |
AMATEUR HOUR/SILENT AUCTION
Men’s Club is planning Amateur Hour and there is some information about the show that we want to pass on to you. The program is on the Saturday night of Parent/Grandparent Weekend, November 18. Admission is free and we would love for all of you to be there. We expect it to be a great show, as so many of our students are incredibly talented. Please also come hungry; we are selling concessions before and during the show.
Besides selling food, we have a few other fund-raising opportunities going on during the evening to help support our Men’s Club and the dorm. We have 30 tables available to purchase that are located close to the stage. The cost is $75 per table and each table holds 6 people. If you need another chair or two, a table can accommodate up to 8 people for an extra $10 charge per chair. Snacks, drinks, and dessert are supplied to those who purchase a table. If you are interested in purchasing a table, please call soon, as tables often sell out quickly.
We also have a Silent Auction going on during the show. This year we have some very exciting items that have been donated, including stays at hotels, restaurant gift cards, and more. If you would like to donate items to our Silent Auction, we would very much appreciate the donations, including gift baskets, baked goods, and gift cards. If you have other ideas for donation items, just give us a call! We welcome parent volunteers to help with the silent auction, concessions and preparing food. We also appreciate the donation of time and the gift of prayer. Thank you for your support!
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent-teacher conferences will be held Sunday morning, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Teachers will be in the gym to talk with you about your student’s progress. No appointments are necessary. Parents are always welcome to contact teachers by phone or email if they have questions.
PROGRAM LIVE-STREAMING
If you are unable to attend that weekend but would like to join in the celebration, we will be live streaming Vespers, Sabbath School, the Worship Service, and Amateur Hour. To view, please go to www.ucaa.org/live. No password is needed.

WINTER DRIVING/ATTENDANCE POLICY
SAFETY IS OUR FIRST CONCERN!
Day students are encouraged to stay in the dorm when it is unsafe to travel. In this case, the fee for staying overnight in the dorm will be waived. Please make arrangements with the deans. Students driving during poor road conditions should allow extra driving time.
Even if Liberty School District is closed, we will continue to have classes. Parents will need to evaluate the situation. Our top priority is student safety, but we also don’t want them to miss classes unnecessarily. Liberty often closes due to conditions that do not affect travel to UCA. If Liberty is closed, students’ perfect attendance will not be affected and absences will be excused.
If Liberty School District is on a two-hour delay, we will operate as normal. If you have a special circumstance, please advise us.
Tune in to the radio or TV stations in the morning to have a list of school closings. You may also receive the same information on their websites.
If students have travel emergencies or will be staying home due to road conditions, parents need to call Flor Smith at 245-3614.
Again, you are encouraged to help your student allow extra travel time or have them stay in the dorm when necessary.
We are all praying for a safe winter.
