UCA Family,
Friday Morning Prayer
Every Friday morning at 8:00 am, in the lobby of the Ad Building, we get together to pray for specific people and events. This week we are praying for Sarah Holloway and Butch and Alice Huggard. We will also remember the Equestrian Program. If you are on campus, we would love to have you join us. If not, please pray with us wherever you are. This will be our prayer focus during the coming week, as well.
UCA Vocal Octet
On Sabbath, November 9, the UCA Vocal Octet will be participating in the church service at the Lewiston, Idaho SDA Church.
Veteran’s Day
Monday, November 11, is Veteran’s Day, and school will be meeting.
Media Presentations/Assembly
There will be assembly in the assembly hall on Monday through Thursday next week at 11:30 a.m. We will be using our assembly schedule (Wednesday/Thursday schedule) for each day. Presentations during assembly will focus on media and its impact.
School Picture Retakes
School picture retake day is November 14. If you want your picture retaken, you must make an appointment by talking to Mrs. Dalrymple in the Principal’s Office.
Family Weekend
November 22-24 is Family Weekend. Parents and grandparents are especially invited to join us!
Live Streaming
On Family Weekend, November 22-24, 2019, the worship services will be live-streamed. (Sundown Meditations will not be live-streamed.) You can watch by going to www.ucaa.org/live. There is no password needed.
FoundationONE Annual Awards Dinner
The FoundationOne Annual Awards Dinner is Friday evening, November 22, at 5:00 p.m. in the UCA Cafeteria. It is for parents and grandparents of students receiving a FoundationONE grant.
Family Weekend Worship Services
On Friday, November 22, vespers will meet in the UCA Church at 7:30 p.m. On Sabbath, November 23, Sabbath School and Church will meet in the UCA gym, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sundown Meditation is in the UCA Church at 4 p.m. on Sabbath afternoon. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Family Weekend Meals
For those not attending the FoundationONE dinner, supper will be served in the Assembly Hall (Old Cafeteria) from 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. Sabbath breakfast will be served from 9:00-9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria, and Sunday breakfast from 8:00-8:30 a.m. If you wish to purchase meal tickets for Friday supper, Sabbath or Sunday breakfast, please contact the UCA Business Office by calling (509) 245-3618. We invite our students’ immediate family members and their grandparents to join us for lunch in the cafeteria on Sabbath after church, free of charge. On Sabbath evening, the gym will open at 6:30 p.m. and supper will be available for purchase. No supper will be served in the cafeteria on Sabbath evening. Sack lunch-making supplies will be available in the cafeteria during Sunday breakfast for students needing a lunch for the trip home. Meal prices: Adults and students–$7; children ages 4-11–$5; children under 3–free; meals charged on a student account are $8 per meal.
Cambodia Mission Trip Meeting
On Saturday evening, November 23, there will be a Cambodia Mission Trip meeting in the cafeteria at 4:30 p.m. Plan to meet with Eric Johnson for details about the trip.
Senior Parent Meeting
On Saturday evening, November 23, there will be a meeting for seniors and their parents in the cafeteria at 5:00 p.m. Eric Johnson and the senior sponsors will discuss important details about upcoming senior events and activities.
Walla Walla University Financial Aid Workshop
How to Pay for College–Saturday, November 23, 5:45-6:45 p.m.
You could actually pay less to attend Walla Walla University than any other Adventist college or even a state school! Seniors and their parents are invited to join Walla Walla University from 5:45-6:45 p.m. in the Assembly Hall (old cafeteria) for this free workshop. Amateur Hour
Amateur Hour is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night, November 23. Plan to come early and purchase supper, and also peruse the silent auction that will be happening that evening in the gym. Parent Teacher Conferences
On Sunday, November 24, parent teacher conferences will take place in the UCA gym from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Teachers will be available for short (5-10 minute) conferences. If you need more time to dialogue with a teacher, please be aware of others who are waiting and make arrangements to communicate at a later time. While parent teacher conferences are going on, students will be attending a required all-school assembly in the Assembly Hall. If you would like your student to accompany you to the parent teacher conference, they will be excused from the assembly.
Thanksgiving Break
Students are free to leave campus at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 24. Home Leave buses will depart from the flagpole at 12:30 p.m. Dorms will re-open at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1.
