WEEK OF PRAYER
Week of Prayer begins today!  Our speaker is Stephen Farr, Associate Pastor at the Pasco Riverview Church.  His theme for this week is “He Makes Me Brave”.  Our staff is united in praying around the clock this week for the Holy Spirit to come with power.  Please pray with us that students and staff will grow closer to Jesus and lives will be changed.  We will be using the Week of Prayer schedule, which is attached.

HOPE DAY
This Thursday, October 13, is HOPE Taskforce Day!  Our entire school, including staff, will go into Spangle and the surrounding communities to serve people in different ways during a morning or afternoon project.  There will be no work or classes that day.

Village students on the meal plan who need a lunch need to sign up in the front office by Wednesday afternoon.  Lunches will not be made for students whose names are not on the list.   If you sign up, please pick up your sack lunch at the café on Thursday morning before you leave to go to your project.  Thanks for your help!

ECHOES
Our first Echoes for the year has been published and is on our website!  The Echoes is written by students and gives a more in-depth picture of what is happening at UCA and the creative writing skills of our students.  Please check it out at www.ucaa.org.  Enjoy!

NEXT WEEK’S EVENTS:

DAY STUDENTS – SUNDAY SCHOOL on October 16
We will use the Regular Schedule (attached) on Sunday, October 16.  The good news is home leave begins at 12:12 p.m. on Wednesday!  (See attached Shortened Schedule for Home Leave Day).  Classes resume and second quarter begins on Monday, October 24.

ITED/ASPIRE – ALL FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORES
All Freshmen and Sophomores will be taking Aspire or ITED tests on Monday and Tuesday, October 17-18.

Freshmen need to arrive at the Computer Lab by 7:50 a.m. ready to begin testing by 8:00 a.m. on their assigned testing day.  Boys will test on Monday and girls will test on Tuesday.  All classes and other appointments will be excused during testing time.  Students will have regular classes on the day they are not testing and must keep all other appointments after testing.

ALL Sophomores will test on both Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 – 11:30 a.m.  Afternoon classes and other appointments will meet as usual.

HOME-LEAVE BUS
Students planning to ride the UCA home-leave buses should respond to the transportation email by Sunday, October 16.  The schedule is attached.  It is very important for parents to be early at the drop-off/pick-up points.  The bus driver is on a very tight schedule, and it affects everyone if they wait for late arrivals.  Thank you for helping us be on time by ensuring your student is on time.

SENIOR TRIBUTES
If you would like to include a senior tribute in the yearbook, please submit it by Monday, October 24.  If you are designing it, please make sure the sizes are 7.5 x 10 for a full page and 7.5 x 4.75 for a half page.  It should be submitted as a high resolution pdf, tiff, or jpeg.  If you need assistance, we can design it for you.  Just let us know what you want.  Email tributes and questions to yearbook@ucaa.org.
