Dear UCA Family,
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9
19 days, 16 hours, 57 minutes, 20 seconds!!!
CHORAL/ORCHESTRA CONCERT IN SPOKANE VALLEY
The final choral/orchestra concert of the year will be held this Friday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Spokane Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1601 S Sullivan Rd, Spokane Valley, WA. If you are in the area, please come and join us! The attached class schedule will be used on that Friday.
SACRED BAND CONCERT/GYMNASTICS HOME SHOW
The Sacred Band Concert will be held in the UCA Church this Sabbath, May 20, at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Gymnastics Home Show at 9:15 p.m. in the gymnasium. We hope you are able to attend and support our students.
LIVE STREAM FOR UPCOMING EVENTS
Awards Banquet, Choral/Orchestra Concert, Sacred Band Concert, and Gymnastics Home Show will be live streamed. To view, please go to www.ucaa.org/live. Please check the Looking Ahead section below for dates, and invite family and friends to watch these events!
VILLAGE STUDENTS – TRACK & FIELD DAY
Track and Field day will be Monday, May 22. The Track & Field activities will start as soon as classes have ended. The afternoon activities are part of the required school day. Lunch and supper are provided for day students. Please see the attached Track & Field Day Schedule, which is the same as the home leave schedule as far as classes are concerned.
Because we value your student’s education so much and want them to be able to complete all required school work in the time frame given and without added stress, especially as the year comes to a close, all students are required to attend all of their classes the last week of school unless there is a family emergency or specific family event. Please make your plans this year with this in mind to avoid unwanted surprises at the end of the year.
TEXT & LIBRARY BOOK RETURN
See the attached flier for due dates. Parents, please encourage your student to wait until the librarian has verified that they have returned all of their books. It is possible that they will return a textbook, thinking it is theirs, but the bar code shows that it is checked out to someone else. That will help their friend, but they will still be responsible for their own book.
STUDENT SUMMER JOBS
Is your student needing summer work? Summer jobs are available at UCA in several different areas, some for a few weeks and others all summer long. Student workers will need to have their own off-campus housing, as the dorms and cafeteria will not be available for their use. For more information, please contact Nancy Starr at (509) 245-3610 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
INTERNATIONAL TOUR OPPORTUNITY
Would you like to travel to Italy? Join Upper Columbia Academy for a tour of Italy in March of 2018. We will be visiting sites in Venice, Florence, Assisi and Rome. For more information contact John Spano, at email@example.com
