Dear UCA Family,
We will continue to meet to pray for our students and staff starting again on Monday, January 8, 2018. We will be praying for the Junior girls, Krista Dalrymple, and José and Karla Chávez.
IT’S NOT TOO LATE
We are accepting applications for the second semester. If you know a student who should be at UCA, contact Shelley Bacon, at Shelley.Bacon@ucaa.org or call (509) 675-5003.

The following Student Week of Prayer speakers will be leaving for SWOP Retreat from Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. through Sunday evening, January 4-7, 2018. They will share, bond, and prepare mentally and spiritually for Week of Prayer. This is a very important time for these students and for the adults who are mentoring them. Please keep them in your prayers:
Rec Ski begins this Sunday! Rec Ski payments are due now if you haven’t already paid for the whole rec ski package. Please contact Pastor Sid at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible if you have questions or need to make a payment. See you at Schweitzer!
The ordering of graduation announcements, accessories, and cap and gown, will take place on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 6-7 p.m. in the Library. Please bring your completed graduation announcement order form with payment to the meeting.
Seniors, if you plan to visit a college in preparation for next year, it is imperative that this happens during the 3rd quarter rather than the 4th quarter, as we want you to succeed and graduate!
COLLEGE PREP TIP FROM WALLA WALLA UNIVERSITY
There are two great things high school students can do to prepare for college over Christmas break: shadow a professional and apply for outside scholarships. For freshman through seniors, job shadowing is a great way to explore career options in an area of interest. Connect with someone in your church or a family friend and ask if you can follow them for a few hours and interview them about what they do. Also, consider applying for outside scholarships. Students who spend the extra time to apply for scholarships can get thousands of dollars in money toward college fees that they never have to pay back, in addition to what is provided by their school of choice. Here are a few great sites to get you started:
